- Why choose KEM Performance, Inc?

We have been tuning Fords and GMs both at the OEM level and in the aftermarket for almost 15 years now. All of our diesel tuning is done on our own trucks first before releasing any files to the customer. We are the originator of 6.4L and 6.7L On Road and Race tuning and know what works an what doesn't.

- What power levels do you offer and what are their uses?

We offer many different power levels to suit your needs.

6.0L and 7.3L Engines (1999 to 2007)

  • Stock with trans only tuning - great for those that are satisfied with stock power levels but want better trans tuning.
  • Tow - Tow tune used for towing up to the vehicle limits
  • Street - A good all around tune used for light towing, daily driving, and better fuel economy.
  • Race - Great safe power, works best with our custom FICM tuning (6.0L only)

6.4L Engines (2008 to 2010)

  • Stock with trans only tuning - great for those that are satisfied with stock power levels but want better trans tuning.
  • Stock no regen - used by those that like stock power but want to remove the DPF (Race use only)
  • 40 (Tow Level 1) - An increase in power while leaving the emissions equipment intact, can tow up to vehicle capacity.
  • 40 (Off Road Tow Level 1) - Increase power with no DPF (Race use only), can tow up to vehicle capacity.
  • 75 (Tow Level 2) - An increase in power while leaving the emissions equipment intact, can tow up to vehicle capacity.
  • 75 (Off Road Tow Level 2) - Increase power with no DPF (Race use only), can tow up to vehicle capacity.
  • 150 (Tow Level 3) - An increase in power while leaving the emissions equipment intact, can tow up to 15K on flat terrain - less if navigating through steep grades.
  • 150 (Off Road Tow Level 3) - Increase power with no DPF (Race use only), can tow up to 15K on flat terrain - less if navigating through steep grades.
  • 210 (Off Road Tow Level 4) - The highest increase in power with no DPF (Race use only) that we recommend for towing (up to 10K).
  • 250 (Off Road Race Level 1) - Our entry level race file for use with no DPF (Race use only).
  • 275 (Off Road Race Level 2) - Our "Nutty Professor" tune for use with no DPF (Race use only).
  • 310 (Off Road Race Level 3) - Our "Nutty Professor Plus" tune for use with no DPF (Race use only).
  • 345 (Off Road Race Level 4) - Our "Nutty Professor Extreme" tune for use with no DPF (Race use only).

6.7L Engines (2011 to Present)

DPF ON

  • Level 1 - Stock with trans only tuning - great for those that are satisfied with stock power levels but want better trans tuning.
  • Level2 - Tow Level 1 - For use when towing up to the vehicle limit.
  • Level3 - Tow Level 2 - For use when towing no more than 10K lbs.
  • Level4 - Fuel Management - For use when fuel economy is most important (Our trucks see over 23 hand calculated MPG - results vary and are not guaranteed)
  • Level5 - DPF ON Race - (500 RWHP!) For use to play at the track or a sled pulling event.

- I am looking for a file that is not listed above, what do I do?

We can custom make any power level and for any types of modifications on the truck. Call us to discuss your needs.

- I placed my order online, how do I get my file(s)?

In order for us to make your custom file(s), you need to submit the following information to sales@kemperformance.com :

VIN, Engine part Number (i.e. 8c3a-14c204-xx), Trans Part Number (i.e. 8c3a-14c337-xx), Tuner serial number (Tuner type -Mini Maxx, Black Maxx or XRT Pro for H&S products), List of Mods on the truck, and the completed, signed, and dated disclaimer found here .

- Where do I find the required signed disclaimer that must be filled out, signed, and returned to us before product ships?

- I just purchased custom files for my Livewire or XCal, how do I get them on the tuner?

To put the files into the tuner you will need to use the SCT uploader software found here . After install, follow the on screen propmts for installing your tune(s) onto the tuner.

- I have a tuning DashDaq with custom files, should I update my tuner?

We recommend that you DO NOT update the tuning DashDaq at this time.

- What if the file I received is not what I requested, do I have to pay again?

If the file(s) sent to you were not as you specifically requested with the initial email, we will remake the files for you free of charge (up to 2 times). If the file is as requested but you forgot to include everything needed to make your file in the original request, there will be a $75 custom file remake charge.

- What if I sent all the information initially but after receiving a couple of files they are still not what I requested?

On rare occasions, we might need to have the truck bought to our shop or have recordings made and sent to us for review.

- Do I have to pay for a new file if I change any hard parts on my truck?

Yes, there will a $75 custom file remake charge for each file that you want updated to match the new hardware.

- Do I have to pay for a new file if I want to change the power level?

As all files are custom made, there are no refunds or exchanges of a file or files for a change in power level after the originally requested files have been sent. If you want a different power level file, there will a charge (cost based on power level) for each new file that you want.

- When I try to load the files onto the SD card, the computer says the card is locked, what do I do?

On the side of the SD card or adapter, there is a lock tab. Make sure that the tab is in the unlocked position to transfer files.
